Lighting Calculation by Dialux Software

Lighting plays a very important role in an industry or utility. It illuminates an indoor or outdoor space of a plant for carrying out specific activities of administration, control and production, it illuminates the roads and pathways for transport, it illuminates vacant outdoor spaces to ensure safety, it provides decoration of entry gates, sign boards, name plates etc. For obtaining the number and type of lighting fixtures for a specific lighting task, Dialux software is nowadays used by many engineers to find out the illumination level offered by the selected number of lighting fixtures.

The software is dependent on *.ies files of the luminaire, which are to be collected from the lighting fixture suppliers. The dimension of the room (L X W X H) is to be provided in the software in addition to the wall/floor/ceiling reflectance factors to determine the number of luminaires required in a given space.
