Switchyard Cable Trench Layout drawing :
An Extra High Voltage Switchyard contains many types of high voltage (11kV, 33kV, 132kV, 220kV, 400kV etc.) equipment which needs to be connected to each other and to the control room by power and control cables. A large network of cables run from one point to another in the Switchyard. These cables need to be laid in an organised manner in Cable trenches so that laying, dressing and future replacement of one cable is possible during project installation and in future. Normally the outdoor cable trenches are made of concrete or brick. The cable trays are supported at regular intervals on cable racks made of steel sections. Cable trays are also of different types - site fabricated, prefabricated, non metallic types. The control cables are laid in multilayer touching formation whereas the power cables are laid on trays either in touching or with certain gap depending upon the ampacity to be obtained from the Power cable.
Some of the Medium voltage power cables are sometimes laid directly buried underground with some mechanical protection such as providing concrete tiles, warning tapes above the cables or providing bricks at the side of the cables etc.
Satcon has almost two decades of rich experience in preparing Switchyard cable trench layout drawings for EHV substations upto 765kV voltage level. We have the national and international standards, specifications and skilled manpower to deliver this type of drawings at attractive prices.
