Switchyard Layout Plan & Elevation

Extra High Voltage Switchyards play an important role in the Transmission and Distribution network of an Utility or large Industry. Depending on the voltage level of the switchyard, phase to phase and phase to earth and ground clearances are decided. Normally bay width of a 132kV Switchyard is 12m, 220kV Switchyard is 18m and 400kV Switchyard is 24m. Bus bar is formed by ACSR / AAAC conductors and Equipment to Equipment connections are established through Al tube or ACSR conductors. One Equipment center to another Equipment center is decided depending on the requirement of the sectional (working) clearance.
